From a cheerful brilliance
into a shocked and stricken son
there was a gradual transition
a slip into another from medicinal prescription
From a joyful cunning
into a caution-mindful station
there was a change of motivation
a segue into secrecy at a lower elevation
From a clever anger
into a pacifist insistence
there was a restless new existence
a swallowed bitterness that entered without much resistance
From a innocence divine
into a knowing quite primeval
there was a gradual upheaval
but no chance of a selfsame soul retrieval.

You're ever so welcome kind sir.
"a swallowed bitterness that entered without much resistance" as well as your way with rhymes just makes this piece a stand out.
